Certification

Diamond Willow is proud to be a Certified Organic collaborative. We are certified by the Organic Crop Improvement Association (OCIA) which is one of the world’s oldest and largest most trusted leaders in the organic certification industry. Although there are measures being taken to create an organic standard in Canada there is no firm standard yet.

All facilities that process Diamond Willow products are federally inspected, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) approved and OCIA certified, which fits with the Diamond Willow ethic of providing high-quality products that have great taste without compromise.

Diamond Willow is also certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The USDA implemented national organic standards on organic production and processing in October 2002, which followed more than a decade of development. The new uniform standards are expected to facilitate further growth in the organic farm sector. The National Organic Program (NOP) was created in 1990 to regulate organic certification because organic standards were not strongly set or enforced. Through accreditation, the NOP assures that the certifier understands and is using the National Standard and confirms that the certifier can conduct the business of certification properly.
